“The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall." - Nelson Mandela

As I sit here, reflecting on my journey to first 500 followers on Medium, I am filled with a sense of pride and accomplishment. It's been 27 days since I started writing on this platform, and I've learned so much along the way.

In this article, I'll share the strategies that worked for me, and provide tips for readers who want to grow their audience on Medium. Whether you're a seasoned writer or just starting out, I hope you'll find something valuable in my story.

So, let's dive in! 📚

1. Consistent Daily Writing 📝

Consistency is key when it comes to building an audience on Medium. I made it a point to write every day, even if it was just for a few minutes. This helped me develop a writing habit, and ensured that my followers always had something new to look forward to.

To make daily writing a habit, try these tips:

- Set aside a specific time each day for writing
- Start with small, achievable goals (e.g., 10-15 minutes of writing per day)
- Use a planner or app to schedule your writing sessions
- Make writing a non-negotiable part of your daily routine

2. Quality Writing✍️

While consistency is important, it's equally essential to focus on quality. I made sure to write well-researched, engaging, and informative articles that provided value to my readers.

To improve your writing quality, try these tips:

- Read widely and often to improve your writing skills
- Research your topics thoroughly to provide accurate information
- Use clear, concise language to convey your message
- Edit and proofread your work carefully to ensure error-free writing

3. Write in a Way That Readers May Get or Learn Something 🤓

I focused on writing articles that provided valuable insights, tips, or information to my readers. This helped me build a loyal following of readers who appreciated my content.

To make your writing more informative and engaging, try these tips:

- Identify your niche or area of expertise and focus on that
- Research your topics thoroughly to provide accurate information
- Use real-life examples or anecdotes to illustrate your points
- Provide actionable tips or advice that readers can apply to their lives

4. Write in a Way That Readers May Get Healed If They Have Any Problems Related to Discussing Topic 🌟

I tried to write articles that not only informed but also inspired and healed my readers. For example, my article "The Art of Letting Go" received many positive responses from readers who found it helpful.

To make your writing more therapeutic and healing, try these tips:

- Focus on topics that resonate with your readers' emotions and experiences
- Use empathetic and compassionate language to connect with your readers
- Share personal anecdotes or stories that illustrate your points
- Provide actionable advice or tips that readers can apply to their lives

5. Show the Importance of Our Surrounding Members 👪

I made it a point to write about the importance of family, friends, and community in our lives. This helped me connect with my readers on a deeper level and build a sense of empathy and understanding.
For example, my poetry - “Ma, I long to be with You” and "Lines for Dear Papa " got a lot of engagement, positive and emotional response. Even some of them directly commented that - l love you Papa❤️

To make your writing more relatable and engaging, try these tips:

- Share personal stories or anecdotes that illustrate the importance of relationships in your life
- Use descriptive language to bring your characters and stories to life
- Focus on the emotional connections and bonds that tie us together
- Provide actionable advice or tips on how to nurture and strengthen relationships

6. Write from the Heart ❤️

Finally, I tried to write from the heart, rather than just thinking about writing as a burden or obligation. This helped me stay motivated and inspired, even when the going got tough.

- Use personal anecdotes and stories to illustrate your points
- Focus on the emotional connections and bonds that tie us together
- Write in a way that feels natural and authentic to you

As I look back on my journey to 500 followers on Medium, I'm reminded that success is not just about numbers – it's about the connections we make, the lessons we learn, and the positive impact we have on others.
