Who Am I and What's My Value?
Do I need to show off myself?

Today, as I scrolled through my WhatsApp status updates, one post caught my eye. It was about personality and what makes a person truly successful. A famous civil servant was sharing his thoughts with Amitabh Bachchan, saying, "I often noticed that people with big success have big humbleness and simplicity. Like they make tea themselves, decorate their room themselves. And I always tried to assimilate these qualities in myself with my journey."
I couldn't agree more. The more deserving a person is, the less they feel the need to show off. This got me thinking about my own life and values.
What is it that makes a person truly valuable? Is it their wealth, status, or achievements? Or is it something more profound?
I think about the story of Sudama, a childhood friend of Lord Krishna. When Sudama, a poor Brahmin, visited Krishna's palace, the gatekeepers laughed at him, judging him by his appearance. But Krishna ran barefoot to the gate, embracing his friend with tears in his eyes.
This story shows us that the mentality of lower-positioned people is often limited by their own narrow thinking. They judge others by their appearance, rather than looking deeper. On the other hand, truly successful and deserving people, like Krishna, possess humility and kindness.
Research has shown that people who are genuinely humble and kind tend to be more successful in the long run. A study published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology found that humble leaders are more effective and have better relationships with their team members.
Another study published in the Journal of Positive Psychology discovered that people who practice gratitude and humility tend to have higher levels of well-being and life satisfaction.
So, how can we cultivate these qualities in ourselves? How can we become more humble, kind, and compassionate?
For me, it starts with self-reflection. I ask myself, "Who am I, really?" "What are my values and priorities?" "How can I live a more authentic and meaningful life?"
It's not always easy. There are times when I feel the need to show off or prove myself to others. But I'm learning to let go of those impulses and focus on what truly matters.
I think about the words of the famous civil servant, "I often noticed that people with big success have big humbleness and simplicity." This is what I strive for – to be a person of simplicity, humility, and kindness.
As humans, we all have our own strengths and weaknesses. We all have our own struggles and challenges. But it's how we respond to those challenges that defines us.
Do we let our struggles break us, or do we use them as opportunities to grow and learn? Do we let our successes go to our heads, or do we stay humble and grounded?
These are the questions that I ask myself every day. These are the questions that I hope you will ask yourself too.
Because in the end, it's not about what we achieve or accumulate. It's not about how much money we make or how many likes we get on social media.
It's about who we are as human beings. It's about the kind of person we want to be. It's about living a life of authenticity, humility, and kindness.
In this way a line for you all
"Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better."
Let us strive to do better. Let us strive to be better. Let us cultivate the qualities of humility, kindness, and compassion. And let us live a life that truly reflects our values and priorities.
"Be humble, be kind, and always remember that the greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall."
